Outer Reef Yachts Europe is a bespoke brokerage house specialising in one to one relationships with clients. Their listings only contain carefully selected yachts which represent the finest of their kind.

The client brief

Outer Reef Yachts Europe briefed Cogent to “communicate through visual experience” in order to “set our brand apart from the run of the mill advertisers” In essence our client recognises the importance of generating a positive emotional response when promoting very high value luxury products – in this case yachts.

Our approach

In order to move the brand to the top tier of its market Cogent proposed full screen yacht images on the home page using java script to resize and re-proportion  the images on the fly  in any browser at any screen resolution including iPads, iPhones and smart phones.

Ensuring consistent image quality

It was equally important to create a stunning impression at all other levels especially the yacht sales pages. Naturally we had to ensure that each yacht was presented in the best possible manner so we spent a high proportion of our time retouching and cropping a wide variety of boat shots to create a consistent and optimum look and feel across the site. As the site has grown Cogent continues manage updates on a fixed cost basis taking pressure off our client and ensuring consistent quality
