Oceanstyle is a sister company of Burgess, one of the world’s leading luxury yacht brokers and charterers. Cogent has worked with their marketing manager, Hanneke Maljaars, since the company’s inception.
“Oceanstyle was formed in 2005 and specialises in production and semi production yachts in the €2 million to €10 million bracket. Naturally we are targeting an affluent market but our customers are perhaps younger and more sports minded than for the large yacht category.
Cogent Design was recommended to us by a sister company. Their team took a verbal brief and developed our entire identity from scratch, working closely with us from the start.
They started by showing us some revealing research into how luxury brands express themselves visually using space, typography, colours etc. One of their design concepts used yellow, black and grey and it immediately struck us that this would appeal to our target audience and differentiate us from our competitors especially as we do a lot of magazine advertising and need to stand out.
